Mark is a children's entertainer, children's magician and DJ who has been entertaining children since 2007, and has worked with hundreds of schools, nurseries, mums, dads and many other venues all over the country. Some of his proudest moments have been working with disadvantaged children with Voluntary Action Within Kent, and helping his mother to foster 22 children over a 9 year period.
 

Growing up, Mark's mother was a foster carer in Southend, Essex. She looked after many children, from toddlers to teenagers, and helped to get their lives back on track having had bad starts in life. This role was extremely challenging, and Mark often had to step in to help where needed. This was an excellent preparation for Mark to better understand children of all types and ages, which is essential when entertaining children.

From here, Mark moved onto university where he completed his degree in Music Production. While music production is a lot of fun, it didn't seem to be a good career choice and he swiftly moved onto DJing once he completed his degree. He has since played at many prestigious venues such as The Waldorf Hotel, Troxy and Museum of London, and worked with acts such as Alexander O'Neal and even shared a stage with Milton Jones!

 

Having initially started as a wedding DJ in 2005, Mark became a specialist children's entertainer two years later. Mark noticed that at many weddings, the children were sometimes getting under the feet of the adults, and they needed to be entertained as well. With this in mind, Mark started to offer combination entertainment where he would entertain the children during speeches, and then provide a full evening disco for the adults afterwards. Having proved very successful, Mark then moved on to start Top Hat Kids as a dedicated children's entertainer, and he's never looked back.
